The farm occupies a long valley that was once home to several farm families. A county road use to traverse the property but was left unused once the families moved out. The farm is secluded, at the end of a county road, yet just three miles from town. The farm was purchased in January 2007. Since that time we have created openings for food plots and a centrally located water hole perfect for pulling deer in. Most of the water in this area goes underground, making this hole critical during dry periods. In addition to the pictures of the farm, I have included some of the deer pictures we have gathered. We have only harvested two deer since 2007. In the last two springs we have harvested 13 gobblers. Hart County was the number one harvest county for turkeys in 2010. That's impressive considering a portion of the county is owned by Mammoth Cave National Park and does not allow hunting. Hart County produces Boone and Crockett deer every year. It appears through our 2011 deer survey that we have 19 different bucks using the farm. The survey determined we have approximately a 1:1 doe ratio. We have pictures of all the bucks. The property is getting electric as soon as crops on adjoining farm are harvested. County water was installed last week. The line does not go completely to property but can be extended. You would have your own meter. At the time of purchase there was not any open ground on the property. we have cleared about eight acres with about six of it in food plots of clover and alfalfa and eagle seed soybeans (see picture). This property would be ideal for someone who wants a farm to do some serious hunting or wants to relocate to Kentucky and start a farm from scratch.
