Recent data from Lands of America shows over $4 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Bluegrass State, which constitutes a total of 328,760 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 120 counties in Kentucky, Pulaski County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 655 acres of sold land in Kentucky recorded in December 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a four percent rise in sales activity over the previous month, with a combined land value of $3 million for all property and land sold in the state. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $3 million. Adair County saw the most land sales recently in the state. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of size, Kentucky is the country's 37th-largest state, covering an area of 40,411 square miles (26 million acres). In its entirety, 39,486 square miles covers land area, while the remaining 921 square miles is covered by water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Kentucky include whitetail deer, turkey, dove, quail, ducks, and pheasant. Anglers have their choice of bass and catfish.
