Lands of America data records $496 million in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Bluegrass State. This represents a combined 131,768 acres of land for sale in Kentucky. The most expensive property listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $13 million, although the median price for land, ranches and rural property in Kentucky came in at $245,860. The average price of land listed for sale in Kentucky was $345,150. There was 5,833 acres of sold land in Kentucky recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from the previous period. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $18.1 million. Kentucky gets rugged fast and lives up to its heritage as a hunting and fishing paradise. Hunters can choose from over 80 wildlife management areas as well as the sprawling Daniel Boone National Forest and Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. In terms of size, Kentucky is the country's 37th-largest state, covering an area of 40,411 square miles (26 million acres). With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Kentucky. U.S. News & World Report ranks Kentucky as one of the country's top ten states for its cost of living. Of the 120 counties in Kentucky, Pulaski County had the most land and acreage for sale.
